The last two items found in the collection are a cover photo (and back side) of a magazine article containing his famous slogan "for the people" and following the back side of the page that emphasizes the promises made by McGovern had he been elected as President.

Some of the things promised by McGovern include the following:

  • his guarantee of $150 a month in social security to Americans over the age of 62
  • broaden Medicare and include out-of-hospital prescription drugs
  • improve schools and help homeowners in terms of having property taxes as a burden
  • focus on giving back to Vietnam veterans
  • equal rights; justice and minority opportunities

It also talks about Nixon and where he receives his money from like millionaires or giant corporations

Finding things within the Jane Tolmach collection was definitely a scavenger hunt because there was not much meaning one of two things either Jane Tolmach didn't really support him or he didn't do really good at campaigning (which could be the reason why he lost.
